About The Hill Soccer School
History - How we started
The Hill Soccer School is a family club which caters for boys & girls ages 3-16yrs. We also run a dads session at the same time (to keep those enthusiastic dads fit & out of trouble!). The Soccer School was founded in 1999 when parents from the primrose hill/st johns wood community contacted Arsenal Football Club and requested if it was possible to send some football coaches to primrose hill park to coach the local boys from the area......the rest is history. At present we have a membership of over 350 children attending saturdays, sundays and wednesdays. As mentioned we are a family club and our main priority is that at the weekends, it is a fun club for our members to come along and enjoy themselves playing a sport they like whilst running around getting plenty of exercise in the fresh morning air, no matter what standard you play at.
LEAGUE TEAMS
We also cater for the more passionate players who want to play in competetive football against other teams/clubs. The Hill Soccer School enter teams to play in 'Camden & Islington Midweek Youth League' and 'Camden & Regents Park Saturday Youth League'. We have teams in all age categories starting from U8's up to U16's. In all age groups, The Hill Soccer School do very well in their leagues and are regulars at the top of their league tables. If your child gets into one of our teams, they will be expected to attend midweek training on wednesdays on primrose hill (spring/summer months). As our members can see we have lots of teams, so we can cater for all youngsters who want to play in competitive matches no matter what standard. As we always say, 'the more you play the better you become'. For our more talented players, The Hill Soccer School provides the opportunity to play at an even higher level. At present we have 6 U11 boys representing their District Borough (camden) Team which is the highest level of playing before Academy level. If we feel some of our players have 'got it' we also have regular trips up to Arsenal FC's Academy to let the boys show off their skills. We have Barnet FC scout on hand at our sessions on the weekend and have other connections with professional clubs in England.
Season 2009/10 - Our Belsize U10 team had an amazing season winning both Regents Park league U10A Div. & Market Road U10B Div. Our Primrose Hill FC U10's team also had League success winning the Market Road U10A Div. This is a great achievment and we look forward to many more winning ways.
